Chatrade is a marketplace that connects buyers and sellers in Harare. We keep things simple, and we keep your data to a minimum. This page explains what we collect and why.

What Chatrade is

Chatrade lets you browse goods and services posted by sellers, and contact those sellers directly on WhatsApp. We are an introduction service — the actual buying, selling, payment, and delivery happen directly between you and the seller, off the platform.

Information we collect

• Listings you post: the photos, descriptions, prices, and WhatsApp number you choose to publish on a listing or shop.
• Anonymous usage signals: to make browsing better, we record which categories and items are viewed on your device. This is tied to a random device identifier, not to your name.
• Likes and saved preferences: stored on your own device to personalise what you see.

We do not require an account to browse, and we do not ask for your name, email, or password to use Chatrade.

WhatsApp

When you tap to contact a seller, you are taken to WhatsApp. Anything you share in that chat is governed by WhatsApp's own privacy policy and is between you and the seller. Chatrade does not see or store your WhatsApp conversations.

How we use information

• To show your listings to potential buyers.
• To personalise the items and shops you see.
• To understand which categories are popular so we can improve the marketplace.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your personal data.
• We don't show third-party ads that track you across other apps.
• We don't handle your payments — those happen directly with the seller.

Your listings

You are responsible for what you post. Don't post anything illegal, counterfeit, or that you don't have the right to sell. We may remove listings that break these rules or that other users report.

Sellers

If you post a listing, the WhatsApp number and details you include become visible to buyers — that's how they reach you. Only include information you're comfortable sharing publicly.
